This page is dedicated to Legolas of the Woodland Realm. This is the first I've made so far, but I'm going to make a page for all my favorite characters. Well, Legolas is a elf, blessed with immortality, and perpetual youth. He is claimed to be 2931 at the start of the quest. He provided a bit of comic relief when he claimed "I am going to go find the sun." He said this shortly before the group went into the mines of Moria. He single handedly killed a Oliphaunt and crew (to Gimli's surprise and displeasure saying "That still only counts as one!"). He jumped onto the tusk then onto the front leg, then onto the back leg, where he climbed to the back from. Then he shot three of them (bringing the total count to 43) and jumped swinging on a piece of the oliphaunts saddle. Then he cut the strp holding the saddle in place and climbed the oliphaunt while the saddle pulled him up. See, the saddle was falling the other way. He stopped on it's back and ran to the head, where he shot two arrows into it. Then he slid down the trunk and landed in front of Gimli. He is very good with his swords, which when not in use are strapped to sheaths in front of his quiver. He can move the blades with lightning fast precision, but it is with his bow he is really talented. He can shoot down foes that are barely visible and the only time he ever missed was when Gimli nudged his bow. Aragorn had just told him to "shoot an arrow past the bowson's ear" when Gimli whispered "watch your aim" and tapped the bow. The angle was ajusted slightly and in a result the arrow hit one of the river crew. Before this Galadriel had prophesied "Legolas Greenleaf, long under the tree, In joy hast thou lived beware of the Sea, If thou hearest the cry of a gull on the shore, Thou heart shall dwell in the forest no more." When he was at the river he heard the cry of a gull and the prophecy was fulfilled. He was caught by Sea-longing. It was a wish to go to Valinor, the Undying Lands. It is quite common among the Sindarin elves. After Aragorn's death he and Gimli (now quite old) sailed to the Undying Lands. It is not known what happened to them after that.
